The rhythm of the sea determines which visual expressions that will be the final.

Photoartist Torleif Hamre holding his piece of art Golta I.

When working with my photoart I slow down the pace. This as a reaction to the overwhelming flow of images and visual expressions we have today. I use time to find the right location, reading the weather report and studying clouds and light conditions. The last few years I have been working more with long exposure photos. Using Lee Filters like Big-Stopper and Little-Stopper. In the serial seascapes you will see the final artworks using long exposure. I capture the energy of the sea and transform the energy into "painterly" expressions.

Creating one or two artworks takes my several hours in the field, before returning to my studio editing the final piece in Lightroom. The process itself is just as important as the result. Being by the sea and slowing down the pace is a meditative relief for me. And I hope you will sense this atmosphere as well in my photoart.
